Cancer Prevention

Step 1. Questions

Cancer is always a serious disease, but it also is treatable. Scientists and health professionals keep developing the ways they diagnose and treat different forms of cancer.

For this e-Journal project, you will research and report on cancer and ways to prevent it. You may choose to write an overview of cancer in general. Or you may discuss one kind of cancer in detail.

Here are some questions to guide your research.
  • What is cancer? What are some of the different kinds of cancer?
  • What are some simple steps that people can take to reduce their risk of developing cancer?
  • What are some of the myths that people have about cancer?
  • What questions do you have about cancer?
As you visit the Web sites listed in Step 2, take notes in the note-taking boxes. You may also use search engines to find other Web sites to visit. Or you may research cancer at the library.

When you are ready, follow Steps 3 and 4 to write your report.
