Select a Sport

Step 1. Questions

What sports have you tried playing? Which did you enjoy, and why? Are there sports you haven’t tried, but would like to?

For this e-Journal project, you will research and report on a sport. You may choose any sport that is new or unfamiliar to you. This means if you are the shortstop for the school baseball team, you should choose a sport other than baseball.

Once you have found your new sport, here are some questions to conduct research on it.
  • Who plays or practices the sport? Is it a sport for adults, kids, or everyone?
  • What kinds of safety equipment are recommended for the sport?
  • What are the basic rules of the sport?
  • Why do people enjoy the sport?
  • What questions do you have about the sport?
Visit the Web sites in Step 2 to learn about some interesting sports. You may also use search engines to research another sport that appeals to you. Or try an encyclopedia or other reference source at the library.

When you are ready, follow Steps 3 and 4 to write your report.

Step 2. Research
