Resolving Conflicts
Step 1. Questions
Teens may have conflicts with peers at school, with neighbors, and even with friends. Some conflicts involve bullies. Bullies treat others disrespectfully, often through name-calling, threats, or physical force.
How should teens resolve conflicts? Violence is never the answer. The best ways to resolve conflicts involve discussion, mediation, and compromise. For a serious conflict, teens should consult a parent, guardian, teacher, or other trusted adult.
For this e-Journal project, you will research and report on ways to resolve conflicts. Here are questions to guide your research and writing.- When should teens involve a trusted adult in resolving a conflict?
- What is mediation? How does mediation help to resolve conflicts?
- What steps can teens follow to resolve conflicts?
